The Waldeisen family and the family and staff at Montana Vintage Arms would like to thank everyone for participating in the Rifle Raffle benefit for Lucy.

Rifle Winner

The fund raiser was a huge success, raising over $26,000 to help cover medical and travel expenses for Lucy and her family.

The drawing for the 1874 Montana Roughrider Rifle and the accessories, valued at $4,500, was held at the Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Iron Sights Nationals, in Raton, New Mexico, on July 16th. The lucky winner, Dave Weiss, of New Jersey, graciously accepted the prizes.

Lucy's Story

At Lucy's three year check-up a lump was found in her abdomen. Lucy was sent to Salt Lake City Children's Hospital in March, 2009. She was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer. The tumor has been removed, but the cancer is high risk and treatments are expected to last at least a year. At first the Waldeisens found treatment in Salt Lake City, which included chemo and radiation. Then in late June, the family was accepted into an experimental program at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, in New York City, where they have a whole team specializing in Lucy’s form of cancer. Currently the Waldeisen family is living in New York at the hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. The continued support is much appreciated, as the family and Lucy bravely face each new day.
