Thank you for purchasing what we feel is the most accurate powder measure being produced today. With proper use & care, your new powder measure will give you years of trouble-free service. With the proper techniques being employed, you should be able achieve 2-tenths-of-a-grain deviation or better.

While reading through the following guidelines, please refer to the accompanying drawings for reference.

We recommend the following technique:

• Mount the bench plate to a sturdy bench or table so that the measure
  body will be held firmly
• Slide the body onto the bench plate
• Screw the hopper onto the measure body & tighten gently
• Fill the hopper with powder: 4” will hold approx. ¼ lb, 8 ½” will hold
approx. ½ lb, 17” will hold approx. 1 lb.
• Notice the slider block has filled with powder
• The measure is now ready to go

Next, you will need to set the charge tube to hold the desired amount of powder. The charge tube is adjusted by loosening the Knurled Lock Knob on the side of the tube. Rotate the Knurled Adjust Nut clockwise to increase volume. To read the graduations on the threaded post in the charge tube, the reference line is the bottom of the Knurled Adjust Nut. The numbers on the threaded post refer to hundredths of an inch (.010”), and the graduations on the Adjust Nut refer to thousandths of an inch (.001”). Each graduation on the post takes one revolution of the nut and equals twenty-five thousandths of an inch (.025”).

Through testing with 1 ½ Swiss Black Powder, we were able to determine that each grain of powder is equal to .028” movement on the nut. Therefore, 60 grains of powder will require 1.68” of adjustment. (60 x .028 = 1.68”). Your results may vary due to powder granulation brand of powder and other variables.

• Place the charge tube into the base of the measure body
• Once the tube is all the way into the measure, smoothly press the handle and move the slider block to the stop
• The charge tube will now fill
• Release the handle smoothly – do no let the handle drop. Consistency is the key here.
• Remove the charge tube from the measure body & pour into your drop tube.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Compressed air is a useful tool to remove powder residue from the slider block mating surfaces. DO NOT oil any of the parts as this will cause powder & dust to stick affecting accuracy.

If you get any debris, oil or sticky liquid in the charge tube, clean with denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner and dry with compressed air.
